STARC’s early intervention Early Steps services are available to any child from birth to 36 months old who has a developmental delay.
The program offers services as dictated by the Individualized Family Service Plan. Services listed in the child’s plan may be accessed through private providers who are registered through the Early Steps program.
Either directly or through employment and/or contracts with qualified professionals who are registered with Early Steps, STARC may provide services that include:
- Occupational therapy
- Speech/language therapy
- Special instruction
- Family training
Children’s Choice Waiver
The Children’s Choice Waiver is an option for children on the OCDD registry who currently live at home with their families or who will be leaving institutional care.
This service allows maximum flexibility, as children receive up to $20,650 per year in services, which can include:
Family Support
Services provided directly to the child, enabling a family to keep the child at home to enhance family function. For example, STARC can assist families in obtaining necessary supplies, such as those for incontinence, and in-home supports/personal care attendant.
Family Training
Available to all individuals deemed appropriate, and approved by the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities waiver supports and services office, we can train and educate families and their supports in the best way to care for the child.
Environmental Accessibility Adaptations
STARC can help with any physical adaptation of the family home or vehicle necessary to ensure the health, welfare and safety of the child and/or which enables the child to function with greater independence in the home.
